Many people enjoy camping, and many are finding it harder and harder to actually get out and enjoy the great outdoors. The reasons may vary from a lack of time to lack of resources, as well as many other things in our busy lives. We must realize that connecting with nature is a vital part of our existence and can lead to a greater sense of well being. However, we have come long way from the hunters and gathers we once were and now rely greatly on input from gear experts and like minded friends and family to help us determine which equipment we need to have a more enjoyable experience in the wild.
When it comes to buying essential camping gear, a large factor you must consider is, how you intend to use your camping equipment. If you consider yourself to be more the car camping type (enjoy camping outside, but like to not be limited to what you can bring and therefore look for places you can drive to), then you may not need to shop for large camping backpacks to hold a tent, sleeping bag, etc… Instead, you may want to look for some really cozy camping chairs to have while you are sitting around the campfire at night. Now, on the flip side, if you consider yourself a more serious adventure camper and like to get away from other people and enjoy the solitute that only nature can offer, you are going to need a whole different range of camping equipment.
The key to determining which camping equipment will be best for you, is to first determine what type of camper or how exactly you intend to use the gear. Having this sorted out before going to your local gear shop will save you time and of course money… No need buying equipment that you are never going to use, good luck and happy trails!
